Eshqobil Shukur – winner of the award
Istanbul hosted the 14th Poetry Festival of the Turkic Peoples.
According to the Writers Union, the well-known Uzbek poet Eshqobil Shukur, who took part in the festival, was awarded the main prize named after Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh.
Eshqobil Shukur was born in 1961 in the village of Boymokli, Kumkurgan district, Surkhandarya region. In 1984 he graduated from the philological faculty of Tashkent State University. His first collection of poems is called “A Study of the Heart”. This was followed by “Your Long Braids” (1988), “Night Flowers” (1989), “Green Birds” (1995), and the prose book “Tales of the Ancient Garden” (2005).
