A scientific-practical seminar has taken place in Urganch, Khorazm Region, western Uzbekistan, on topical issues of the protection of rights and legitimate interests of entities of entrepreneurship.

A scientific-practical seminar has taken place in Urganch, Khorazm Region, western Uzbekistan, on topical issues of the protection of rights and legitimate interests of entities of entrepreneurship.

The seminar held by the Institute of Democracy and Human Rights and the OSCE project coordinator in Uzbekistan was attended by representatives of state and public organizations, entrepreneurs, farmers, graduates of vocational colleges and media employees.

It was said that special attention was being paid under the leadership of the country’s President to developing small business and private entrepreneurship, to defending the rights and interests of entities of this sphere and to granting them additional privileges and preferences.

The presidential decree dated 15May 2015 “On measures to secure the reliable protection of private property, small business and private entrepreneurship and to remove barriers to their accelerated development” is an important programme document in this area.

There are more than 11500 small business and private entrepreneurship entities functioning in Khorazm Region. They account for 73.9 per cent of its gross regional product and 75 per cent of its employed population.

At the seminar, reports entitled “The legal bases of the system of protection of the rights and legitimate interests of entities of entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan”, “The work of justice bodies on the protection of the rights of entrepreneurship entities” and “Issues of improving the system of protection of the rights and legitimate interests of entrepreneurs” were heard.

Answers were given to questions that were of interest to participants in the event.
