Tashkent hosted the presentation of the project “Electronic poetic dictionary”, implemented at the expense of funds allocated by the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan.

The Project Manager, Doctor of Philology Gulnoza Odilova told about the goals of creating an electronic Uzbek-English poetry dictionary, its capabilities and advantages. Views were exchanged on further improvement of the project.

The new dictionary will become an indispensable assistant in revealing the peculiar subtleties of work while translating it from one language to another. The translator, using this e-dictionary, will be able to find out the meaning of a word or phrase that caused him difficulty, as well as get information about what style should be used while translating.

The dictionary contains not only translations of words, but also comments on them, excerpts from literary works using the desired words or phrases-all in two languages, as well as content with photos that will help the translator better understand the meaning of the word.

The electronic poetry dictionary consists of 7 thematic sections, 115 chapters and includes 2299 words.
