Electrical products exported to Canada and the United States for the first time

AIMC hosted a briefing organized by the Uzeltechsanoat Association.

It was noted that electrical engineering enterprises’ production volume in the first quarter amounted to 5.1 trillion UZS, and exports amounted to $243.2 million.

Ninety-eight exporting enterprises made a special contribution to this. Products were exported to 72 countries. For the first time, 16 new enterprises were able to export products. Also, for the first time in the history of the country’s electrical engineering industry, exports were carried out to Canada and the United States. The export of cable and copper pipes to Italy and India has begun. Using GSP+ privileges, domestic electrical products were supplied to six European countries.

“To attract foreign brands, the production of household appliances under the trademark JVC (Kenwood) from Japan and TCL from China has been established”, says Namoz Tolipov, Head of the Information Service of the Uzeltechsanoat Association. “Within the framework of the localization program, products worth 830 billion UZS were produced”.

Over the past three months, the enterprises have processed 18 thousand tons of copper raw materials, and within the framework of the Investment Program, they have attracted $75.6 million in investments. The revenue of the Association’s member enterprises to the budget amounted to 203 billion UZS. 374 trade contracts were concluded through the portal new.cooperation.uz. By the end of the year, 85 projects worth $485 million will be implemented in the regions, and 4,395 jobs will be created.

This year it is planned to increase production capacity by 20 percent and export volumes to $1.5 billion. In addition, processing of copper raw materials will be increased to 140 thousand tons. Five projects will be launched in the “Copper Cluster” of Akhangaran district, and a technology park specializing in the production of household appliances will begin operating in Bukhara region. Projects to produce solar panels with a capacity of 300 MW in Karshi and 200 MW in Nukus will be implemented.
