The 19th international exhibition “Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan – OGU 2015” and the 10th international specialized exhibition “Energy – Power Uzbekistan 2015” are underway at the Uzexpocenter Complex in Tashkent.

The expositions are organized by the Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbekenergo State Stock Company, the Trade and Industry Chamber of the country and the international exhibition company ITE Uzbekistan jointly with the ITE Group of Companies.

Chairman of the Board at Uzbekneftegaz Sh.Faizullaev and others speaking at the event noted that the wide-ranging reforms spearheaded in our country under the leadership of President Islam Karimov to advance all the sectors of the economy, including the fuel and energy complex, have been yielding their remarkable results. An important normative base for the further pursuance of farsighted strategy of economic development, introduction of innovation technologies and the effective utilization of drawn investments has become the decree of the head of our state on the program of measures to secure structural reforms, modernization and production diversification for 2015-2019, signed March 4 this year.

A particular emphasis is placed in that program on the hydrocarbon and energy complex. Thus, in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries, volumes of production are projected to be increased and the range of goods with higher added value is planned to be expanded on the basis of deep reprocessing of natural gas and gas condensate. The program envisages the implementation by the Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company of 39 investment projects totaling more than 7 billion U.S. dollars. The major schemes among them are the modernization and reconstruction of production capacities of the Bukhara Oil Refinery, the construction of gas chemical complex at the Mubarek Gas Refinery, the building of a new plant for pyrolisis of hydrocarbons at the base of raw materials of the Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex, the fourth row of the Uzbekistan-China gas pipeline, expansion of the production capacities of Uzbekkhimmash factory for the manufacturing of large-size multi-ton petrogas-chemical equipment (second stage), organization of the production of plastic goods and the procurement of high technological machinery for geological prospecting.

The organized international exhibitions “Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan – OGU 2015” and “Energy Industry – Power Uzbekistan 2015” are going to facilitate the implementation of these and other projects in the fuel and energy complex of our country and the attraction of foreign investments into the sphere.

Thus, this time around the geography of the “Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan – OGU 2015” exposition participants has expanded to a great extent. More than 200 companies from such nations as China, South Korea, France, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Poland, the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Ukraine, South Africa, Turkey, among others.

Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company has been consolidating its positions in the world market of hydrocarbons from one to another, while the priority significance is attached to the production of import substituting and export oriented ready goods. Companies of world renown and leading experts of the industry arrive in Uzbekistan every year for talks and to exchange expertise with Uzbekneftegaz. That is the outcome of the constant realization of major and prospective projects, introduction of cutting edge and high technological approaches to the production.

This year, around 30 Uzbekistan-based companies and joint ventures have been invited to the dialogue along with the flagman of the country’s oil and gas industry, who presented their schemes and innovations to colleagues from abroad.

The solutions displayed by them on prospecting and extraction of hydrocarbons, production of drilling, mining, heating and other designated equipment, machinery for automobile gas collection compressor stations and petroleum stations, of synthetic liquid fuel triggered a great interest among foreign participants of the exhibition.

The leading international manufacturers present control-measuring, drilling, oil and gas equipment, state-of-the-art technologies for automobile gas collection compressor stations and many others. Among them especially noticeable are the companies from China and South Korea.

“The oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan wields a tremendous potential and demonstrates high development rates,” said Sun Weipin, chief geophysicist of the Chinese company BGP Inc. CNPC. “Currently, our company is busy in prospecting of a range of major projects in Uzbekistan. I am convinced that our fruitful cooperation with Uzbek partners will continue to advance.”

Stands of participants from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, the Czech Republic and South Africa are accompanied with presentations on transport-expeditor services, control systems, technological devices fro the hydrocarbon industry and other equipment.

“Our company displays a wide spectrum of equipment and software for geophysical prospecting,” said Abdelkader Jeddu, sales director of CGG, France, in Central Asia and Turkey. “We have been closely cooperating with Uzbekgeofizika Stock Company, which is manifest in the constant exchange of experience, organization of training seminars in France and Uzbekistan.”

“We have been taking part in this exhibition for the first time. We intend to establish direct contacts with Uzbek companies, Rodolfo Bollati, manager of the Italian company Eusebi Impianti. “The immense potential of Uzbekistan’s oil and gas industry is evident; therefore the Uzbek market is rather appealing for companies from abroad. This is manifest in that the major players in the global market of technologies in the sphere of extraction and reprocessing of hydrocarbons are participating in this exposition.”

In general, OGU-2015 with the participation of heads of the fuel and energy complexes of many countries, scholars and specialists, representatives of business circles affords an opportunity to exchange views and expertise, to establish mutually advantageous business contacts, enhance the existing mutual ties, elaborate and implement new joint projects and strike deals.

As part of the exhibition, the traditional international sector-based academic and applied conference served to discuss latest world trends in the field, the hydrocarbon industry’s development in Uzbekistan, the successful experience and new opportunities in international cooperation, funding of projects in the oil and gas sector of our country and other topical issues. Given the importance of that event and the high effectiveness of its results in the global market of extraction and reprocessing of hydrocarbons, the conference was renamed into Global Oil&Gas Uzbekistan, which reflects better and more properly its high international status and extensive audience.

An international exhibition “Energy Industry – Power Uzbekistan 2015” has taken place on the same platform with the international exposition “Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan – OGU 2015”. The former demonstrates the latest accomplishments in the energy sector, power saving and alternative sources of power. Its urgency is in the fact that currently, projects concerning modernization of the power industry are in progress in our country and foreign investments have been flowing in. For its ten-year history, this largest exhibition in the energy sector in all the Central Asian region has recommended itself as an effective business platform, where specialists can get the latest information on the current state of the development process in the industry in Uzbekistan and the world in general, exchange expertise and establish new contacts during meetings and negotiations that are included in the business program of the event.

This year, more than 40 companies from China, Germany, France, Belgium, India, Sweden, Turkey and many other nations.

“Our company has been cooperating with Uzbek partners for seven years,” said Milan Tomes, commercial director for Central Asia of the Czech company Ekol. “For this time I came to believe in the high development rates of Uzbekistan’s energy sector. The country has been effectively using the investments from abroad directed at the modernization of power stations and the elevation of the energy potential of the country in general.”

“I am greatly impressed by the innovations and technologies presented by Uzbek companies,” Mitra Aghai Mokaram, technical expert of Iran Warom Group, has said. “Especially successful has been the development of alternative energy – solar and wind. Participating in this exhibition for the first time, our company presents a wide range of equipment for the power complex and aims close interaction in these fields.”

As part of the business program of the international exposition, a series of seminars have taken place under a common title – “Energy 2015: Innovations, Solutions, Prospects”. During seminars, presentations were organized on pressing issues in the perfection of methods of use of energy and modernization of the existing stations and other themes. One of the most important presentations has been “Development of Alternative Energy in Uzbekistan”, which allows participants from abroad to get familiar with the experience of our country in this promising sector.

The international exhibitions “Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan – OGU 2015” and “Energy Industry – Power Uzbekistan 2015” constitute a convenient platform for the demonstration of the hydrocarbon and energy capacities of our country as well as an effective instrument for the introduction of cutting edge innovations and technologies, for the consolidation of international partnership ties and attraction of new investments.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ghulomjon Ibragimov delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibitions.
