The environmental social action under the motto “Let’s Make Our Country a Better Place to Live” has taken place across children’s summer camps in Bostanlyk and Buka districts of Tashkent Region.

The environmental social action under the motto “Let’s Make Our Country a Better Place to Live” has taken place across children’s summer camps in Bostanlyk and Buka districts of Tashkent Region.

The event was organized by the Tashkent city and regional departments of the Environmental Movement of Uzbekistan, the regional association of trade unions and the primary organization of the Kamolot Youth Public Movement at the Tashkent State Technical University. Representatives of public and social organizations, teaching staff and students took part in the action.

Steadfast efforts are carried out in our country to organize summer holidays of schoolchildren at a high level. In particular, kids recreating in countryside summer camps participate in a variety of spiritual and educational, sporting events and environmental actions.

One of such projects was the action “Let’s Make Our Country a Better Place to Live”.

The project, implemented in the framework of executing the resolution of President Islam Karimov “On additional measures for the implementation of youth policy in Uzbekistan” signed 6 February 2014, promotes the arrangement of substantial leisure of youth, elevation of their ecological culture and their energetic participation in activities related to nature protection.

During the conversations organized with representatives of public and social organizations and ecology specialists the subject matters included the national legislation in the field of environmental protection as well as the changes taking place in the sphere. Active participants of ecology quizzes and sporting competitions were rewarded by the organizing committee.

“Schoolchildren of the capital city and Tashkent Region spend their time in our summer camp,” says Oynisa Miralimova, head of the children’s recreation camp “Kimyogar” in Bostanlyk District. “It has all the conditions and amenities for kids to spend their vacations with use and full of events. A great diversity of events are held for them, ecology projects being among them. Such social actions help raise the ecological culture of the youths and the sense of participation in reforms undertaken.”
