The Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the Rector of the Indonesian University of Gunadarma, the Ambassador of the Uzbek tourism brand in Indonesia, the Chairman of Indonesia – Uzbekistan Friendship Society, Eco Sri Margianti, who arrived in Uzbekistan as an international observer of the Presidential elections.
Dr. Eco Sri Margianti emphasized that Uzbekistan is one of the most steadily developing partners in Central Asia with great economic and social potential. In recent years, cooperation between the two countries has been developing in various fields. Relations between the peoples of the two countries, based on public diplomacy, are of great importance.
The guest informed about the goals and objectives, activities, ongoing events and projects of Indonesia – Uzbekistan Friendship Society. It was proposed to organize joint roundtable discussions, conferences and exchange of delegations.
It was noted that the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Indonesia also makes a worthy contribution to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
During the conversation, Dr. Eco Sri Margianti shared her opinion about the Presidential elections in Uzbekistan, noting that the electoral process was well organized, especially highlighting the active participation of youth, expressed gratitude for creating all conditions for international observers.
Following the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee Rustambek Kurbanov handed Eco Sri Margianti a badge “Khalqlar Dustligi” (Friendship of Peoples) and invited her to the Friendship Week to be held next year on the occasion of July 30 – Peoples’ Friendship Day.
Dr. Eco Sri Margianti noted that large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan have led to the development of tourism and an increase in the flow of foreign tourists, noting that in the future she will contribute to the expansion of cultural cooperation between the two countries, and thanked for the award.
