Documents submitted for registration of candidates
On 21 October 2016, representatives of the Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan People’s Democratic Party and the Adolat Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan submitted to the Central Electoral Commission the necessary documents for the registration of candidates for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On 21 October 2016, representatives of the Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan People’s Democratic Party and the Adolat Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan submitted to the Central Electoral Commission the necessary documents for the registration of candidates for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.Members of the Central Electoral Commission and representatives of the political parties and mass media took part in the event.
In accordance with the legislation, political party leaders present the Central Electoral Commission with applications requesting the registration of candidates for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Attached to the applications are resolutions of the highest bodies of political parties on the nomination of candidates for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, documents of gatherings of the highest bodies of political parties on the nomination of candidates for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, written statements from candidates for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan agreeing to stand in elections and lists of signatures in support of candidates’ nomination for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Within seven days’ time, the Central Electoral Commission checks the conformance of the presented documents to the requirements of the electoral legislation and gives its conclusion on this.
Currently, expert groups for checking the accuracy of signature lists have been formed at the Central Electoral Commission. The groups include members of the Central Electoral Commission, representatives of public organizations and specialists of internal affairs and justice bodies.
