Yesterday in Samarkand, a solemn welcome was held for the winner of the gold medal of the Paris 2024 Olympics, the first female athlete from Uzbekistan to win the title of Olympic champion, Diyora Keldiyorova.

At the event, which took place on New Uzbekistan Square in Pastdargom district center, the leadership of Samarkand Regional Hokimiyat presented Diyora, her family members, and coaches with letters of gratitude and valuable gifts.

The athlete was congratulated on her historic victory by the deputy hokims of the region Rustam Kobilov and Khusan Tukhtayev, and the Hokim of Pastdargom district Sherzod Rakhmonov.

Olympic winner, Asian and world champion in judo Diyora Keldiyorova thanked everyone who supported and believed in her:

“This victory belongs not only to me, but also to my family and friends, coaches and mentors, our entire nation”, she said.
