A forum of women and girls has been conducted in Bukhara under the slogan of “My life, my destiny – my sacred homeland, my beautiful and unique Uzbekistan” devoted to the 25th anniversary of the country’s independence.

The event held by the regional council of the Milliy Tiklanish democratic party of Uzbekistan was attended by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local councils, leaders of party organizations, members of the women’s wing, sports girls, craftswomen and mass media workers.

Today, the party’s regional council has more than 12 thousand members, and 60 per cent of them are women and girls. During the forum, products and works of women and girls working in various spheres were put on display.

At the event, participants’ creative works incorporating national features, dances and songs performed live and their composing skills and craftsmanship were evaluated. Active participants in nearly 10 nominations such as “the youngest talented poetess”, “the best performer of ancient national music”, “the most charming national dancer” and “highly skilled national dress designer” were awarded certificates of merit and memorable gifts.
