Today in Tashkent, the Development Strategy Center, together with the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan, organized a public discussion of the draft decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State Program for the implementation of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy in the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy”.
More than 200 experts participated in the event, organized to provide information on the essence and significance of the draft State Program for 2025, the priority measures and tasks defined in it, to provide an assessment by foreign specialists and further improve the document. Among them were members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, deputies of the Legislative Chamber, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations, the World Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, officials of ministries, agencies and organizations, experts of the Development Strategy Center, civil society institutions, as well as journalists.
During the discussions, it was noted that the draft State Program is a conceptual document of New Uzbekistan aimed at building a free society and a just state that ensures the well-being of people, peace, democracy, and respect for human rights.
“The draft State Program for 2025 defines 295 practical measures, 87 regulatory legal acts, and 269 target indicators”, noted the Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center, Eldor Tulyakov. “Since January 8, 2025, the draft document has been posted on a special portal www.uzbekistan2030.uz of the Development Strategy Center. Citizens can familiarize themselves with it, leave their opinions, and make suggestions”.
More than 3,000 proposals have been received on various areas of the draft document. Public discussion will last until January 22.
The event was attended by the UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Ms. Sabine Machl, representatives of ministries, senators, the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court, the First Deputy Chairman of the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan, and heads of diplomatic missions of foreign countries, who expressed their opinions on the importance of the tasks specified in the paragraphs of the draft decree.
The participants emphasized that thanks to the discussion of the draft State Program with the public’s participation, including representatives of the international community, it will be improved to comply with the people’s interests and international standards.
