Discussion of the draft law
The draft law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On tourism”, which is being prepared for the third reading, was widely discussed at the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis with participation of the public, experts and scientists.
The draft law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On tourism”, which is being prepared for the third reading, was widely discussed at the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis with participation of the public, experts and scientists.
This project, which is being prepared by the Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Sport of the lower house of parliament, has become a law of direct action. The departmental normative legal acts of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Tourism Development were reduced and reflected in the draft law itself.
The draft includes norms of more than 40 bylaws, the articles of the draft law were increased from 26 to 44. It was supplemented with such new chapters as “Tourism industry”, “Tourism zone and tourism cluster”, “Rights and obligations of tour operators and travel agents, tourists and excursionists, guides”, “Tourism industry associations”, “Safe tourism”.
In the process of finalizing the draft law, the legislation of a number of foreign countries was studied and analyzed. In addition, special attention was paid to the application of international treaties regarding tourism in practice.
Participants of the roundtable discussion forwarded a number of practical proposals on creating conditions for safe tourism, ensuring the rights and duties of guides, developing domestic tourism, improving the tourism industry and infrastructure.
