A nationwide discussion of the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan” is taking place in the country from June 25 to July 5 this year.
The Hokimiyat of Tashkent region organized a roundtable discussion on the draft Constitutional Law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”. It was attended by a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Kizilgul Kasimova, deputy hokims, representatives of district departments and organizations. Detailed information was provided on the draft Constitutional Law adopted in the first reading.
It was noted that it provides for more than 200 changes to 64 articles of the Constitution. 16 new norms with 6 new articles are being introduced.
In particular, it is clearly stated that pensions, allowances and other types of social assistance cannot be less than the officially established minimum consumer spending. It is indicated that the refusal to hire women due to pregnancy or the presence of a child, the use of the worst forms of child labor are punishable by law in accordance with the Constitution.
It was also announced that marriage should be based on voluntary consent, equality of men and women, an important priority of state policy is the creation of all conditions for the comprehensive, full-fledged physical, intellectual and cultural development of children.
At the meeting, it was noted that all specialists in the sphere should voice the necessary proposals in conversations with the local population, generalize initiatives that will become the basis for the development of all industries. The comments and proposals of the participants on the draft Constitutional Law have been recorded.
