Discussion of Germany’s experience
09:00 / 2024-12-06

The Institute for Parliamentary Studies under the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the regional office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, held an international practical workshop on “Germany’s experience in organizing the activities of deputies elected under the proportional system”.

It was attended by members of factions of political parties, deputies of the German parliament, employees of the Institute for Parliamentary Studies, the regional office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and media workers.

As noted, the constitutional reform has radically changed the democratic appearance of the national parliament. In this regard, the effective organization of the activities of deputies elected by party lists is of particular relevance.

Deputies of the German parliament highly appreciated the large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan in recent years under the President’s leadership. Members of the Bundestag spoke in detail about the features of their country’s electoral legislation and the key principles of interaction between people’s representatives and voters.

The workshop became an effective platform for exchanging experiences. Based on its results, a decision was made to hold meetings to improve the work of deputies.
