Azerbaijan’s Azal Airlines has launched a direct flight between Baku and Samarkand.

Representatives of the airline arrived in Samarkand on the first flight. They were welcomed by employees of Samarkand Regional Hokimiyat, Azerbaijan National Cultural Center, Uzbekistan Airports and Air Marakanda airlines. It was noted that the new direction will contribute to further strengthening relations between the peoples, the development of tourism in Samarkand and Baku.

Flights on this route are planned to be operated twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays on an Airbus A320. In addition, there are regular flights from Baku to Tashkent on Thursdays and Sundays.
