Tashkent hosted “Caspian Technology Day: Digital Silk Road, SLB 2023”.
The forum, organized by Schlumberger, was attended by representatives of more than 20 companies from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan, including Uzbekneftegaz, KazMunaiGas, North Caspian Operating Company, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, and others.
The forum participants exchanged experiences in introducing digitalization into the sphere to further improve the system and increase production potential. Indicators achieved based on the results of cooperation between Uzbekneftegaz JSC and Schlumberger were presented.

Ravshan Gulomov, head of the Modeling Center of the Department of Geology and Field Development of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, noted that the Center is developing solutions to eliminate problems arising from the use of oil and gas fields.
“The center has digitized data collected over the 120-year history of the oil and gas industry in Uzbekistan, and a national database has been created. It should be noted that over the course of 4 years – since the center’s creation – 120 industry models of three-dimensional digital geology of mines, 75 hydrodynamic, and 40 gas pipes have been developed. We have begun to perform one of the most difficult tasks of integrated modeling, the significance of which is to combine and analyze underground and aboveground oil and gas fields”, R. Gulomov said.

According to Dmitry Kryuchkov, Executive Director of the Digital Technologies Department for the Caspian region of the company, Uzbekneftegaz JSC has reached the level of creating a digital database in all directions.
“In 2019-2020, we assisted Uzbekistan in implementing projects to modernize production. It was necessary to transfer the huge amount of information collected by Uzbekneftegaz to a new quality – to place it in the database in digital format and use it to summarize and draw conclusions. Thus, Uzbekneftegaz decided to create a database of digital data on oil and gas. This is the only national database among the countries I work in. Therefore, Uzbekistan is the leader in this matter”, Mr. Kryuchkov said.
