The Days of Georgian Culture are being held in Uzbekistan from March 9 to 11. The central venue for the events is the city of Tashkent, where two ancient cultures with rich histories and distinctive traditions have come together.
The official opening took place on the stage of the State Academic Grand Theatre of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi and was marked by a large concert program featuring artists and creative groups from both countries. The audience’s attention was drawn to the performances of the Uzbek ensemble “Tumor” and the renowned Georgian ensemble “Erisioni”, whose vibrant national dances and music conveyed the richness of their cultural heritage and the temperament of their peoples.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, the Minister of Culture of Georgia, Tinatin Rukhadze, representatives of the Embassy of Georgia in Uzbekistan, cultural figures, and numerous admirers of Georgian art. The gala concert dedicated to the official opening of the Days of Culture was held under the symbolic title “Dialogue of cultures: Uzbekistan and Georgia – the heritage of centuries and the breath of modernity”.

“This year, bilateral visits at the highest level are planned. As is known, an important key document is usually adopted during such meetings, and its signing will contribute to the development of our relations, including in the field of culture”, noted the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov. “In general, cooperation is developing against the backdrop of our country’s open foreign policy. In 2024, the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan were held in Georgia, and this year the Days of Culture of Georgia are being organized in Uzbekistan. In addition, cooperation has long been established among educational institutions, higher education institutions, theatres, and other organizations in the arts. It is especially gratifying that, within the framework of this visit, a specific two-year roadmap for cultural cooperation has been adopted”.
In addition, as part of the Days of Culture program, screenings of Georgian feature films will take place on March 10-11 at the Palace of National Cinema Art of Uzbekistan.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Uzbekistan for the warm reception of the Georgian delegation. I would like to address special words of appreciation to the Minister of Culture. We held a substantive meeting, and I am convinced that Uzbekistan and Georgia share a great deal – traditions, rich cultural heritage, and common values. I would also like to thank the representatives of the mass media. I sincerely hope that culture will unite our hearts, strengthen friendship between people, and contribute to the development of relations”, noted the Minister of Culture of Georgia, Tinatin Rukhadze.
The Days of Georgian Culture have become yet another confirmation that the cultural dialogue between the countries continues to strengthen, opening new opportunities for creative exchange and mutual enrichment.
