The delegation led by the Party Secretary of China’s Shaanxi province Zhao Yide, who arrived in Samarkand, met with the Hokim of the region Erkinjon Turdimov.

At the meeting, views were exchanged on the main areas of strengthening bilateral cooperation.

– Friendship and cooperation between Samarkand and Shaanxi province have deep historical roots, and the current visit will contribute to their further strengthening, – said the Hokim of the region E. Turdimov. – In the course of dialogues with the President of the People’s Republic of China, the President of our country spoke about the need to strengthen these ties of historical cooperation and bring socio-economic ties to a qualitatively new level.

At the meeting, Party Secretary of China’s Shaanxi province Zhao Yide expressed gratitude for the sincere reception and full support for the initiatives put forward by Erkinjon Turdimov.

– The initiatives put forward by the heads of our states on the development of cooperation serve to strengthen the ancient friendship of the two peoples, – Zhao Yide said. – This is manifested in the sincere dialogues during this meeting. The organization of the consulate of Shaanxi Province in Samarkand will contribute to bringing bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level.

During the dialogue, proposals were considered on the prospects for a socio-economic partnership between Samarkand and Shaanxi, and the areas that should be paid special attention in the future were discussed in detail.

After the meeting, Erkinjon Turdimov and Zhao Yide took part in the business forum of entrepreneurs from Samarkand region and Shaanxi province. Speakers at the forum’s opening ceremony said that representatives of business circles established cooperation between the territories in the past. The parties actively participated in the forum dialogues and noted the need to implement agreements on promising projects.

Also, at the business forum, entrepreneurs from Samarkand region and Shaanxi province made presentations and put forward their proposals. Several B2B projects were discussed. Following the event, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The delegation got acquainted with the conditions in the Congress Center and the Eternal City Complex.

The guests also visited the Institute of Archeology, the Registan Ensemble, and the Mirzo Ulugbek Observatory.
