Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan meets with the Vice-President of Iran

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev has met with the Vice-President of Iran Sorena Sattari.

The parties considered the current state and prospects for enhancing investment cooperation between the two countries. There are 366 enterprises with the participation of Iranian capital in Uzbekistan.

In 2021, the trade turnover increased by 73%, exceeding $430 million. In the first half of 2022, the figure has already reached $239 million.

The parties also discussed the development of new projects, the introduction of mechanisms to support start-ups, and joint research.

The Iranian side expressed its readiness to share new technologies for the extraction of groundwater and its purification.

The parties agreed to accelerate the coordination of several documents aimed at intensifying cooperation in fruit and vegetable growing, as well as organizing special training courses in cotton and grain growing.
