The Central Council of the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan "Milliy Tiklanish" organized a training workshop on "Methods of improving public relations in the party system" for press secretaries of territorial party organizations, in Tashkent.

Activities of the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan "Milliy Tiklanish" on promotion and agitation in the mass media and social networks, activities in this area, achievements and shortcomings were discussed.

As it was emphasized, within the framework of implementation of tasks set by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the meeting on July 12, 2017 with deputies of the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis, representatives of political parties and Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan, the reformation process has begun in activities of the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan "Milliy Tiklanish".

The party organization in its daily activity refused regular meetings and gatherings. Party activists and deputies of all levels directed their efforts to practical matters – to studying problems of the party electorate and protecting its interests. Memorandums of cooperation were signed with a number of mass media in order to demonstrate party's position, express a constructive attitude to other parties’ positions, develop competition.

Development mechanisms of the position of the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan "Milliy Tiklanish" on the adopted decrees and resolutions, on the most important and relevant socio-political and economic issues have also been improved. Particularly, over the past period of the current year, the party expressed its position on more than 30 resolutions, decrees, congratulations, speeches and reports of the Head of the state on the official website of the party, Milliy Tiklanish newspaper and on the page in social networks.

Effective cooperation with the mass media is being carried out to bring the initiatives of the parliamentary faction on draft laws, studied issues to general public.

During the workshop, views were also expressed on certain problems facing the party. Particularly, public relations cannot be described as satisfactory. The press secretaries of party organizations are faced with important tasks to inform public about the activities of the party and its initiatives. At the event, proposals and recommendations on this issue were discussed.

The training workshop lasted for two days. In connection with the Press and Mass Media Workers Day – June 27, memorable gifts were presented to journalists actively covering the activities of the party in the mass media.
