On March 10, Uzbekistan’s Denau district in Surkhandarya region will host National Dishes Festival.

By the action plan approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on December 16, 2022, it is planned to hold ethnic festivals in the region, dedicated to demonstrating national values. In this regard, pavilions in the national style will be built in Denau, Sariasiya, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Shurchi districts for the upcoming event. An exhibition of dishes typical for each of the territories will be organized. Methods and traditions of cooking will be demonstrated.

“The festival, dedicated to the glorification of national values, will be held for the first time in the bosom of the mountains”, said the Deputy Hokim of the region Jurabek Turayev. – By this time, the breath of spring will already be felt. This interesting event will contribute to the wide attraction of foreign and local tourists, the promotion of national dishes, and the worthy encouragement of the best chefs. During the festival, it is planned to organize performances by folklore and ethnographic groups, national musical groups, and young performers. Traditional folk games and competitions will be held.

Work has already begun on organizing the event at a decent level. Following the event, winners in the nominations “Best Dish” and “Best Chef” will be awarded.
