The delegation of France led by the Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness Franck Riester has arrived in Samarkand.

Samarkand region’s Hokim E.Turdimov and Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sh. Vafoyev welcomed the guests at Samarkand International Airport.

The delegation visited Registan Square in Samarkand. This complex, which is a vivid example of the creative potential of our ancestors, is an invaluable wealth not only of the Uzbek people, but also of all mankind. It is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The guests were informed about the history of Mirzo Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillaqori madrasahs, as well as activities implemented to preserve and bring them to future generations. The complex also hosted an exhibition of national handicrafts and works of fine art.

Information was provided about Amir Temur's mausoleum and other sights.

On May 9-11, the delegation members will attend the regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and France, in Tashkent. Meetings with heads of ministries and agencies, parliament, as well as Uzbekistan – France business forum will be held.
