Another event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, took place in Tashkent.
The event, organized by the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan and the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was attended by representatives of the Government of Uzbekistan, members of the diaspora, cultural and art figures, students and youth. The participants laid flowers at the bust of the national leader and became familiar with the exhibition dedicated to Heydar Aliyev.
Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fuad Muradov focused on the socio-political activities of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people and his role in the history of the country's statehood. He noted that Heydar Aliyev paid particular attention to Azerbaijan people living abroad, and the diaspora was formed during the reign of this great personality. Fuad Muradov stressed that a large number of compatriots live in fraternal Uzbekistan. Azerbaijan people are always active in the social and cultural life of the country.
Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries Rustambek Kurbanov stressed the historical role of Heydar Aliyev in the formation and development of relations between fraternal countries in different eras.
A documentary film dedicated to Heydar Aliyev, prepared according to the project of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was shown.
The chamber orchestra of folk musical instruments of Uzbekistan “Sogdiana” performed under the leadership of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Professor F. Abdurakhimova. The program featured works by Azerbaijani composers dedicated to Heydar Aliyev and folk songs.
