20:50 / 2026-01-14

An exhibition dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Defenders of the Motherland Day has opened at the Tashkent House of Photography.

The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Youth Affairs Agency, the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan, and the Tashkent House of Photography.

Participants highly praised the works presented at the photo contest “Army of Uzbekistan: Yesterday and Today.”

About 30 professional and amateur photographers, media workers, social media activists, and servicemen submitted more than 500 photographs to the contest, reflecting the activities of the national army.

“Photojournalism is a unique creative process in which events cannot be exaggerated or understated”, says Olimjon Usarov, Advisor to the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Patriotic Outreach, Spiritual and Educational Work, and Youth Affairs. “Each photograph captures reality as it is. In many cases, images eventually become historical documents. Today, we are viewing photographs that reflect the past and present of our army. Through them, we once again witness the immense work accomplished in a short period to reform our national army”.

The photographs presented at the exhibition will help strengthen love for the Motherland and respect and pride in our national army.
