The work of the “Young Border Guards” clubs established at secondary special education and vocational training institutions located in border areas plays a special role in further raising such feelings of young people of pre-conscription age as love for the Motherland, devotion to ideas of independence and military duty.

The republican phase of the “Young border guards” competitions has taken place at a military unit in Chirchiq. 130 members of 13 clubs which had won in the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston and the regions once again displayed their knowledge about and mastery of marching, land navigation, first aid provision, socio-political knowledge and law awareness, all in all 20 different tasks.

In the capital city’s Palace of Youth Creativity, an award ceremony has taken place for the winners and runners-up of these competitions.

The event was attended by representatives of the State Border Protection Committee of the National Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kamolot public youth movement, the centre for secondary special education and vocational training, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Health, the State Committee for Physical Training and Sport and the Trade Unions Federation of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that consistent reforms being implemented in this country to bring up young people to be physically healthy and morally mature and to strengthen their feelings of love for the Motherland, devotion to ideas of independence and national values were giving their high results.

Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan on education and on state youth policy and a resolution dated 6 February 2014 of the country’s First President “On additional measures directed towards implementing the state youth policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan” are important guidance documents in this area.

“Today brave young men who were born and who grew up in the years of independence serve in the ranks of our national army. They acquired modern knowledge and learned modern professions at lyceums and colleges. These clubs play a special role in strengthening students’ military knowledge, socio-political knowledge and law awareness. As part of the work of our club, where all the necessary conditions have been created, young people meet border guards, visit military units and acquaint themselves with the living conditions of our border guards, which undoubtedly increases their interest in military service,” says R.Rahimov, a teacher of a vocational college of information technologies in Khiva District and chief of its “Young Border Guards” club.

According to the results of the competitions, representatives of the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, the “Tinchlik posbonlari (those who preserve peace)” team of the Khojeyli agro-economics vocational college won. The “Qalqon (shield)” team of an industrial vocational college in Bekobod (Tashkent Region) took second place, and the “Jaloliddin Manguberdi avlodlari (Jaloliddin Manguberdi’s descendants)” team of an information technology vocational college in Khiva District of Khorazm Region took third place.

“I am very glad that our team were able to display their high preparedness in the competitions. An important factor here, first of all, is modern conditions created at our college,” says Sh.Dauletmuradov, the captain of the “Tinchlik posbonlari” team.

Diplomas and valuable gifts were given to the winners and runners-up of the competitions.

At the event, well-known artistes and young talents performed songs about the Motherland, peace and friendship.
