“Day of the city of Bukhara” festival in Bukhara
A marathon, trade fairs, a competition of national dishes and other various competitions, an exhibition, a scientific and practical conference and a gala concert were organized within the framework of the festival.

Performances of folklore groups, a pilaf cooking competition, an exhibition of paintings under “Bukhara – an open-air museum” motto were held in “Toki Sarrofon”, “Toki Zargaron”, “Toki Telpak-Furushon” complexes and the old town part of the ancient and eternally young Bukhara.
The festival, held within the framework of implementation of the resolution of the President of our country “On measures of accelerated development of tourism potential of the city of Bukhara and Bukhara region for 2017-2021” of May 19 this year, was organized in cooperation with the regional khokimiyat, state, non-governmental and public organizations.
Representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in our country and international organizations also attended this festival.
Bukhara attracts tourists from all over the world due to ancient architectural monuments, unique craftsmanship, undying values and traditions.
Master classes of gold embroidery masters, jewelers, embroiderers, carpet manufacturers, blacksmiths, miniature artists, engravers and woodcarvers were held within the framework of the festival.
Bukhara has a special place in Uzbek folklore art. At present, each district and city of the region possesses a peculiar style.
At kurash competition, held within the framework of the festival, more than 100 palvans competed in 8 weight categories, over 10 chefs cooked and treated guests with Bukhara and Andijan pilaf.
Within the framework of the event, scientific and practical conference “Ancient and eternal Bukhara” was held in Bukhara regional music and drama theater named after S.Ayni. At the event, historians and ethnographers talked about the history and traditions of the ancient city, exchanged views on projects aimed at attracting tourists to Bukhara.
Currently, there are more than 120 hotels in Bukhara region. In the course of the festival, “Best hotel”, “Best travel agency” competitions aimed at promoting the quality and culture of serving tourists, were also held.
The festival ended with a gala concert with participation of famous artists and young performers.
