Day of Remembrance and Honor in Surkhandarya

The festive event timed to May 9 – Day of Remembrance and Honor and the 76 anniversary of the victory in the Second World War is being celebrated in Surkhandarya.

Representatives of state and public organizations, military units and law enforcement agencies, the older and younger generations gathered at the Memorial Square in Termez, laid flowers at the monument to the Grieving Mother. The memory of the sons of the Motherland who died in the Second World War was honored.

Modern military vehicles drove through the streets of Termez. The event was also attended by military personnel of the Southern Operational Command, Border Troops of the State Security Service, personnel of the National Guard, internal affairs bodies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, auto and motorcycle enthusiasts from the sports and technical clubs of “Vatanparvar” Defense Assistance Organization.

Military personnel, medical workers, as well as theater actors presented a performance in which they told about the difficulties and hardships of our people, courage and heroism of Uzbekistan people.

A solemn event was held in Victory Park, where participants of the Second World War, veterans of the labor front, sector leaders, the general public and young people listened to the President's congratulations and enjoyed the concert program.
