Tashkent hosted scientific practical workshop on “Current trends in law-making: national and international experience”. It was organized by the Lawyers' Training Center under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by representatives of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Constitutional Court, the ministries of Justice, Economy and Industry, the Institute of Problems of Legislation and Parliamentary Studies under the Oliy Majlis, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State University of Law, University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Research Institute of Legal Policy of the Ministry of Justice and mass media.

The main objectives of the workshop are to develop proposals and recommendations for further improvement of legislative activities in the context of ongoing democratic reforms in Uzbekistan, use of international best practices based on the tasks defined in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Oliy Majlis, the Action Strategy and the Concept of Improvement of Legislative Activities.
Participants of the event actively discussed the issues of parliamentary control over the execution of laws, electronic approval of draft normative-legal acts, normative activities of the state governing bodies at places, preparation of directly acting normative-legal acts. Views were exchanged on the draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On normative-legal acts” in new edition, its further improvement.

Following the event, participants adopted scientific practical recommendations aimed at further improvement of law-making activities, consideration practice of draft laws, further increasing the role of political parties in law-making activities.
