The 5th Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan: results, facts, figures, plans.
At the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, on September 15, Khiva will host the Cultural Forum “Central Asia at the Crossroads of World Civilizations”. Within the framework of the forum, the 5th Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent.

More than 250 orientalists, historians, archaeologists, art historians, specialists from specialized scientific institutions from 40 countries of the world, as well as representatives of local and foreign media took part in the Congress. About 100 reports were presented at the conference.
Within the framework of the Congress, a photo exhibition “300 outstanding handwritten masterpieces of Uzbekistan”, an exhibition of Rishtan ceramics, a virtual tour to the monuments of Shakhrisabz and Samarkand, an exhibition of video art “3D technologies in modern science”, a photo exhibition of D. Usmanov “Poetry of Alisher Navoi” and other events are being held.
A presentation of a pilot issue of a facsimile edition of a rare ancient manuscript “The Book of Fixed Stars” was held within the framework of the Congress. The facsimile of the manuscript was made by the Austrian publishing house Mueller & Shindler in cooperation with the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan. The manuscript is in the collection of the National Library of France.
Another event of the Congress was the presentation of 50 volumes of the album book “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the World Collections”. 6 new albums were also released. Among them, there are 4 albums of masterpieces of Uzbek art, 1 illustrated album dedicated to Rishtan ceramics and 1 album with miniatures by Kamoliddin Bekhzod.
Members of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan adopted an appeal to the President of Uzbekistan. A roadmap was adopted for the next 5 years.
The organizers of the events supported by the Government of Uzbekistan are the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan and the National Association of Electronic Mass Media of Uzbekistan with the assistance of UNESCO, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Culture, the oil service company Eriell Group.
