Construction, repair and landscaping work will be carried out at 12 cultural heritage sites in Andijan region.
Large-scale work is being carried out in the country, including in Andijan region, to study them, protect them and pass them on to the next generations.
Preservation and improvement of existing historical-cultural monuments are carried out according to the plan. A list of cultural heritage sites of the region was compiled and an electronic database was created with the participation of experts.
In cooperation with foreign and domestic historians and archaeologists, excavations and research work was carried out at the archaeological sites of Mingtepa in Marhamat district and Kushtepa in Kurgantepa district.
It is known from history that the fortress of Mingtepa is the ruins of the city of Ershi, the capital of the ancient state of Davan. Scientists have established that at one time the inner part of the fortress occupied 38 hectares and the outer – 230 hectares. The ruins of more than a dozen hills have survived to this day, including Jungortepa, Qorovultepa, Mingtepa, Alitepa, where the special palaces of the ruler Ershi were located.
In the center of the region and the city of Tashkent, exhibitions of unique artifacts found during excavations of these archaeological sites are presented to the general public. Work is underway to create an open-air museum “Mingtepa”. In 2021, the restoration and improvement of the architectural monument Ark Ichi, the Merchant’s Residence in the city of Andijan, the Kipchakkurgan mosque in the Shakhrikhan district were carried out. The improvement of the archaeological monument Mingtepa in the Marhamat district continues.
This year, it is planned to repair and improve the architectural monuments of Dukchi Eshon, Ahmadbek Khoji, Obelisk and Hajj, the Yunuskhoji and Gumbaz mosques, the Church of St. Nicholas in the city of Andijan, the Otakuzi madrasah in the Pakhtaabad district, the Tillakhon mosque in Asaka district, the archaeological monuments of Supalitepa in Bulakbashi district, Abdullabi I in Jalaquduq district, the mausoleum of Yunus-ota in Kurgantepa district.
Activities on the preservation, improvement and restoration of archaeological monuments, historical and cultural monuments that reflect the history of our people and national statehood, passed down from generation to generation, are carried out in several places of worship in the region.
