The Director of the Public Diplomacy Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan, Qabuljon Sabirov, visited the city of Tehran to popularize the experience among new members of the structure.

During the visit, he participated in the International Conference “The Role of Cultural Diplomacy in Economic Development”, organized by the Maku Free Trade-Industrial Zone of the Islamic Republic of Iran jointly with the International Institute for Cultural Convergence.

The event was attended by about 300 local specialists, foreign experts from Iraq, Afghanistan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Tajikistan, China, Russia, and Uzbekistan, as well as members of the parliament of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

A presentation on the activities of the Center was held as part of the plenary sessions.

The participants highly appreciated the activities of the Public Diplomacy Center, created on the initiative of the Head of State, aimed at strengthening friendly ties, mutual trust, and respect between the peoples of the SCO and developing cultural and civilizational diversity. Readiness was expressed for further interaction in culture, art, tourism, ecology, translation of historical manuscripts, joint research, exhibitions, concert programs, and filming of feature and documentary films.
