Creative “Tandem” of artists

“Tandem” exhibition by artists Umar Rajabov (Uzbekistan) and Almaz Sharshenkeyev (Kyrgyzstan) has kicked off at Ikuo Hirayama International Caravanserai of Culture of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.

Umar Rajabov is a painter. According to the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, he was born on 29 May 1985 in Khazarasp district of Khorezm region.

Umar Rajabov is a participant in several national and international competitions, biennials, symposiums and exhibitions. In 2001, he received a gold medal at the Young Talents Competition in the Czech Republic, and a year later, a silver medal at the same event in India.

In 2003, he won the Chegara competition held by the Embassy of Switzerland. In 2011, he participated in the international competition “Spring”, held in Moscow. In 2014, he became a participant in an international competition in China. In 2018 – an international symposium in Kyrgyzstan.

In 2010, the artist held his first personal exhibition “Kecha va Bugun” (Yesterday and Today) at the Ilkhom Theater, in 2018 – a personal exhibition “The World Within Me” at the Youth Creativity Palace, in 2019 – a personal exhibition at the Museum of Art of the Republic of Cyprus, and after two years – a personal exhibition “My City” in the Tashkent House of Photography.

Umar Rajabov’s paintings are kept in private collections in Russia, China, Turkey and other countries of the world.

Umar Rajabov is the Ambassador of the Nevskaya Palitra art paint factory in Tashkent.

Another exhibitor, Almaz Sharshenkeyev, is also a talented painter.

He was born on 18 May 1979 in the city of Karakol (former Przhevalsk) of the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The works of Almaz Sharshenkeyev are very interesting, emotional in color. He seems to play with colors when creating his compositions.

The exposition presents over 50 works of artists made in such genres as impressionism (Umar Rajabov) and abstractionism, object abstraction (Almaz Sharshenkeyev). 

The exhibition is dedicated to the spring holiday – Navruz celebrated both in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The event shows that art brings together and strengthens friendly ties between people.
