Rishtan district of Fergana region hosted the opening ceremony of the forum “Crafts of the Turkic peoples”. The event was held by the regional Hokimiyat, the Hunarmand Association, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The solemn event was attended by foreign guests, artisans, potters, and representatives of the general public.

The Chairman of the Hunarmand Association Ulugbek Abdullayev, the Deputy Hokim of the region Khurshid Akhmedov, the Hokim of the district Subkhonjon Soliyev, congratulated everyone on the opening of the international forum and spoke about the attention paid in recent years by the President of the country to the development of folk crafts, favorable conditions created for entrepreneurship and small business. They noted that this forum also reflects such attention and support.

The Pottery Festival has also kicked off as part of the event. An exhibition-fair of pottery schools from different regions of the country was organized. Fine handicrafts presented at the exhibition did not leave anyone indifferent.

The forum will also include a scientific and practical conference, familiarization with the International Center for Ceramics activities, a presentation of the book “Traditional Rishtan Ceramics”, and master classes for young ceramists.
