Uzbekistan holds negotiations with the British company Crown Agents on the possibility of introducing a system that helps distinguish original pharmacy products from counterfeit ones.
The principle of such a system is that it is necessary to scan a barcode using a mobile phone. If the product is original, then you will see information about the manufacturer, certification and date of release of the product.
Crown Agents presented its proposal on February 28 at the 24th Session of the Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council, in Tashkent. The result of the negotiations of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan with this company became a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the health sector.
Recently, Tashkent hosted a regular meeting between representatives of Crown Agents and the National Chamber, the Ministry of Health, and the Agency for the Development of Pharmaceutical Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that a coordinating body is needed in this project. One of the important areas may be tracking vaccines, starting from the manufacturer to the moment the child receives the vaccine. The tasks are difficult, and the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan can coordinate this process.
Crown Agents plans to send a delegation of technical specialists to Uzbekistan for further implementation of the project.
