Uzbekistan, which chairs the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, along with holding various international events, is taking measures to strengthen the interaction between the SCO Member States in security.

The Twelfth Meeting of the Heads of the Competent Authorities of the SCO Member States with powers to combat drug trafficking, which will be held on April 20 this year in Tashkent, will provide a platform for promoting common approaches to cooperation in countering drug trafficking. At the meeting, the parties will consider and take joint measures to combat the new challenges of the drug threat to ensure regional security and stability.

The upcoming event will become part of Uzbekistan's active, open, pragmatic and constructive foreign policy and will contribute to the creation of a solid foundation for making important decisions and signing documents within the framework of the upcoming Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
