COP26 Climate Summit to bring together representatives from nearly 200 countries

The UN Climate Summit, known this year as COP26, will bring together representatives from nearly 200 countries in Glasgow to discuss the best measures to combat global warming.

The event began on October 31st and will run until November 13th.

More than 100 world leaders will attend the November 1-2 summit, known as the High-Level Segment, including U.S. President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Angela Merkel will make one of her last international visits as Chancellor. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to attend the summit.

Queen Elizabeth II and Pope Francis have canceled their trips to Glasgow, while the President of China Xi Jinping, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will deliver video speeches.
