Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with Ms. Akiko Fujii, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan’s active participation in implementing activities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and promising proposals and initiatives were discussed at the meeting.

The parties exchanged views on Uzbekistan’s socio-political and economic reforms, as well as on education and positive changes in gender equality.

At the meeting, the improvement of Uzbekistan’s position in the ratings of international indices was noted, and the issue of developing cooperation in this direction was discussed.

In addition, attention was paid to the joint development of curricula and teaching aids to improve the effectiveness of local Councils of People’s Deputies.
