First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Aziz Voitov held talks with the Director for the Directorate of Education and Skills, and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Andreas Schleicher.

According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the purpose of the visit is also to study the work carried out in Uzbekistan on the implementation of the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), as well as the prospects for further expansion of cooperation with the organization in this area.

Issues of quality control of education, measures for the practical implementation of the PISA program, providing special assistance to students in using knowledge, and solving practical problems in economics and production were discussed at the meeting.

The mechanisms of attracting additional investments in this sphere were considered to ensure broad access of the population to educational services, improve their quality and enhance the functioning of the national education system, including through targeted OECD programs.
