Cooperation with India enhances

In accordance with paragraph 28 of annex 2 to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of May 20, 2022 “On measures to organize the widespread cultivation and processing of medicinal plants and their widespread use in treatment”, all regions and districts were given the task to grow medicinal plant stevia.

An official meeting was held at the Council of Farmers, Dehkan Farms and Owners of Household Lands of Uzbekistan with the Managing Director of Stevia Biotech Sourabh Agarwal, the officials of the Council, the Republican Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the experimental farm STEVIA “Ollohyorohun”. 

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Farmers, Dehkan Farms and Owners of Household Lands of Uzbekistan T. Sattarov highlighted the ongoing reforms in the development of agriculture in the country, the opportunities created for farmers and dehkan farms, subsidies, development of diversified farms. 

In his speech, the investor informed about medicinal plans, particularly, cultivation, processing and export of stevia plant in Uzbekistan. The participants agreed to organize training courses, workshops and roundtable discussions on further reproduction of medicinal plants in Uzbekistan, including stevia. 

The parties agreed on mutual organizational and methodological cooperation, the production of quality and guaranteed products and their further export.

Following the event, the participants were given a handbook “Practical guidelines for homesteads and farms” published by the Council.
