Cooperation with IBSA reaches a new level

A delegation led by Ilgar Rahimov, President of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA), is visiting Uzbekistan. Members of the delegation met with officials at the Ministry of Sports.

The meeting was attended by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Sports, Adham Ikramov, First Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President, Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee, Mukhtorkhon Tashkhodjayev, and Chairman of the Blind Sports Federation, Otabek Ergashev.

At the meeting, members of the international delegation provided detailed information about IBSA’s activities. It was noted that the organization’s primary goal is to facilitate the full integration of blind and visually impaired individuals into society and encourage their active participation in sports. Currently, IBSA has 117 member countries.

The distinguished guests also highlighted the extensive efforts undertaken in Uzbekistan to develop adaptive sports and the Paralympic movement, recognizing significant achievements in this field.

At the meeting, the prospects of cooperation with IBSA were discussed, particularly emphasizing the organization of joint international sports events.

Following the discussions, an agreement was reached to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
