The Acting Hokim of Samarkand region, A. Boboyev, addressing the public regarding plans for the region’s socio-economic development, announced the construction of a modern multi-profile clinic with 800 beds in the regional center, incorporating international expertise.

A meeting on this matter was held at the regional Hokimiyat with representatives of the Japanese company Sojitz and the Turkish company Rönesans International.

Acting Hokim, Mr. Boboyev noted that although Samarkand currently has several large state and private medical centers, most are specialized clinics. Therefore, there is a need for a multi-profile medical institution that meets modern standards and is based on advanced global experience and technologies.

Representatives of the Japanese and Turkish companies supported this initiative and provided information about their involvement in significant projects implemented worldwide. It was also noted that several joint projects with Japan and Türkiye are underway in Uzbekistan, including equipping medical institutions with modern equipment, introducing digital technologies in the healthcare sector, and training medical personnel.

At the meeting, a project for a multi-profile medical center with 800 beds was presented, planned for construction in the new Shirin town of Samarkand. The discussion focused on issues related to the hospital’s infrastructure, planned departments, and medical equipment, with a total project cost of $300 million. In the future, the center is expected to serve as a base for medical personnel training programs.

The parties agreed to discuss the proposed project in detail with the participation of experts.
