The event was attended by ministers of transport, heads of relevant organizations of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Iran, China, Mongolia, Vietnam, North and South Korea. Representatives of such prestigious organizations as the Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the Intergovernmental Organization for International Carriage by Rail, the International Transport Workers' Federation, the International Rail Transport Committee also took part in the event.
Reforms carried out in Uzbekistan for modernizing railways, optimizing tariffs for passenger service and cargo transportation were highly appreciated at the event.
Issues of inclusion of the Republic of Korea, a member of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways, in the commissions under the Agreement on International Railway Freight Communications and Agreement on the International Carriage of Passengers were discussed at the meeting. Results of the organization’s activities for 2018 have been summarized. Proposals for introducing amendments into the Agreement on Organisational and Operational Aspects of Combined Transport in the Communication between Europe and Asia have been studied.
Information of the relevant committee of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways about the work on the project “Towards the rights of a single railway on the transport corridors of the pan-European region and Eurasia” was heard.
The organization’s budget for 2019 has been approved. Issues of development of its draft budget for 2020 have been considered.
A protocol on completion of the 47th session of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways was signed.
