14:27 / 2023-01-21

The Legislative Chamber, together with the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Institute for Legislative Problems and Parliamentary Studies, organized a roundtable discussion on “Uzbekistan and Singapore: current state and prospects for cooperation”.

The Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on International Affairs and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Dilorom Fayziyeva noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Singapore are consistently developing. There is a need to develop scientific and practical proposals and recommendations to determine the tasks facing the national parliament at the next stage of cooperation, as well as mechanisms for their implementation.

A presentation of the collection “Parliament of Singapore”, prepared by the Institute for Legislative Problems and Parliamentary Studies, took place. Director of the Institute Foziljon Otakhonov noted that it contains detailed information about the distinctive features of Singapore’s parliamentary system, its administration, seven permanent commissions, temporary special commissions, the research department, and other structural units.

At the event, recommendations were developed based on the opinions of senators, deputies and experts regarding bringing relations between Uzbekistan and Singapore, in particular inter-parliamentary relations, to a new level.
