Cooperation of Central Asia in the New Geopolitical Environment

Nur-Sultan hosted an International Conference on “Cooperation of Central Asia in the new geopolitical environment: challenges and prospects”, timed to coincide with the upcoming Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

The organizers of the event are the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Representative Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Kazakhstan.

The participants were institutes for strategic studies under the presidents of the Central Asian countries, as well as experts on regional cooperation.

UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Natalia Gherman addressed the event.

On behalf of Uzbekistan delegation, the Director of the International Institute for Central Asia Anvar Nasirov delivered a speech. Emphasizing the relevance and special significance of this event, he noted that the theme of the conference is determined primarily by those large-scale transformations that are being implemented in the countries of the region.

Experts noted that the results of the forum will provide an opportunity to comprehensively and objectively analyze the results of the development of regional cooperation and exchange views on new prospects for its development.
