Cooperation issues with China discussed

Tashkent City Hokim Shavkat Umurzakov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan Yu Jun.

It was noted that trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian relations are consistently developing between the two countries. It was emphasized that a favorable investment and business environment has been created for both local and foreign companies in Uzbekistan, particularly in Tashkent.

At the meeting, long-term plans and significant projects implemented jointly with Chinese companies were also discussed. The need to increase China’s participation in the implementation of projects and activities of enterprises in pharmaceuticals, infrastructure development, construction, and furniture production was noted.

Mr. Yu Jun, in turn, noted that Uzbekistan has established itself as a reliable partner, worthy of trust in all areas, including politics, diplomacy, and business. He thanked for the created conditions for the diplomatic corps, noted similar positions in international relations, and said that the Chinese side encourages trade, economic and political cooperation, and the development of ties in culture, education, and exchange of experience.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue to develop cooperation between Tashkent and the regions of China.
