A delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic led by the Mayor of Osh city Almazbek Mambetov visited Andijan.
Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is enhancing in the economy, trade, education, culture, literature, medicine, and especially tourism. This was discussed at a meeting of guests from Kyrgyzstan with the Hokim of Andijan region Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov.
It was noted that the trade turnover between the Kyrgyz Republic and Andijan region in 2021 amounted to $330 million. While products worth $300 million were exported to the neighboring country last year, imports amounted to $30 million.
Last year, compared to the previous year, the number of tourists from Kyrgyzstan to Andijan region increased. Popular destinations are pilgrimage and medical tourism. Over the past period of the current year, 1,500 guests from the Kyrgyz Republic visited the region for treatment and recreation.
At the meeting between the Hokim of the region and the Mayor of Osh, the parties discussed in detail the issues of further enhancing cooperation in tourism, organizing entrepreneurs’ and artisans’ fairs in Osh regularly.
