The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Korea devoted to expanding cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The implementation of the grant initiative “Supporting the development of the startup ecosystem and venture financing in Uzbekistan”, implemented within the framework of the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) jointly with KDI, became the main topic of the discussion. The project aims to strengthen the innovation environment, introduce advanced venture financing mechanisms, and adapt successful Korean practices to national conditions.
The parties exchanged views on stimulating innovative entrepreneurship, improving the legal framework, and developing institutions necessary for the sustainable formation of a startup ecosystem. Special attention was paid to the analytical studies and regulatory proposals planned under the project.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the initiative will become a significant step in strengthening Uzbekistan’s innovation ecosystem, expanding international cooperation, and attracting venture capital. In conclusion, an agreement was signed to further collaboration within the project framework.
In addition, Korean experts held a workshop for representatives of relevant ministries and departments. It was devoted to developing the startup ecosystem, supporting innovative entrepreneurship, and applying effective venture financing models based on the Republic of Korea’s experience.
