The Administrative and Economic Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a virtual dialogue with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov.
The current state of work on creating, in cooperation with an Azerbaijani company, the joint venture Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Friendship Garden and establishing an orchard on 100 hectares in Fuzuli district of the Republic of Azerbaijan was discussed.
Views were exchanged on the Azerbaijani side’s selection of partners to accelerate the joint venture opening and on the implementation of appropriate calculations to create a garden. A proposal was made to begin this work no later than August.
Also, during the dialogue, issues of creating a garden on 5 hectares of the Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture, and Winemaking named after Academician Mahmud Mirzayev was discussed. For this, Azerbaijan will provide 1,200 hazelnut seedlings free of charge.
Following the dialogue, an agreement was reached to prepare a package of documents related to cooperation projects for the expected high-level visit in August this year.
