Cooperation in textile industry development and vocational education
13:48 / 2024-05-05

A business meeting took place on the issues of creating a platform for dialogue and cooperation aimed at the development of vocational education in Uzbekistan.

The event, organized by the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), was attended by representatives and experts of the sphere. It was noted that it is aimed at sharing experience and skills in managing textile companies, producing environmentally friendly textile products, and attracting international brands.

The GIZ has been promoting the development of education, industry, agriculture, and other spheres during its long-term activities in Uzbekistan.

In particular, the project to support the process of reforming and modernizing the vocational education system in Uzbekistan is one of the ongoing projects. Within its framework, a dual education system is being introduced in Uzbekistan. This initiative provides for the involvement of the textile and sewing-knitting, leather, and shoe industries.

Currently, within the framework of the project, together with the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association, another dialogue platform is being created between representatives of the textile industry and specialists of the GIZ project. Business meetings aimed at the development of vocational education in Uzbekistan create such opportunities for cooperation. The event allowed the parties to focus on discussing current issues and issues from the point of view of further development of the industry.

“This dialogue platform also plays an important role in developing strategies for working with the European market, establishing a national brand, and further developing the human resources potential of the industry”, said Nodira Alikhanova, specialist of Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association’s Information Service.

Following the event, the participants exchanged views on the upcoming plans.
