In Bukhara, as part of the GIZ project to support the process of reform and modernization in the vocational education system of Uzbekistan, a regional forum on “Cooperation with employers in dual education” was held.
In accordance with the agreements reached during intergovernmental negotiations in 2019, this bilateral project will be coordinated by the GIZ regional project “Vocational education for economic growth sectors in Central Asia” to bring vocational education and training closer to the needs of the labor market in Uzbekistan. The project will help introduce a national dual vocational education system that meets international standards and is suitable for the regions.

“The goal of the project is closely related to the success factors defined in the position of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany “Advancing Vocational Education and Training-Shaping the Future”, says the Rector of Bukhara Institute of Engineering and Technology Sadokat Siddikova. “The project aims to develop dialogue between the public and private sectors, developing training courses focused on the labor market. By focusing on vocational training in the textile sector, the project aligns with the goals of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development’s New Asia Policy to expand vocational training in rural areas and further develop rural industries”.

It is planned to carry out technical and methodological qualification activities for vocational education workers to improve their qualifications.
